# Restreaming

Restreaming allows you to simultaneously stream on multiple platforms, increasing audience reach without additional internet bandwidth load. You stream a single feed into Kinescope, and the platform automatically forwards it to all connected external services.

## Who this article is for

* **Stream organizers** — need to stream to multiple platforms simultaneously
* **Content owners** — need to increase audience reach without additional cost
* **Platform administrators** — need to configure streaming to YouTube and other services

## When is restreaming needed?

* If your audience is spread across different platforms and it's important to reach everyone at once.
* If the stream runs in Kinescope, but viewers are used to watching on other platforms.
* For working with different content formats, for example, a partially open stream on social media and a full stream on the closed Kinescope platform.
* If it's important to use the protected Kinescope player, but also stream on other services.

## How to configure restreaming in Kinescope?

Kinescope supports forwarding video streams to external platforms using the RTMP (Real-Time Messaging Protocol) protocol. This is a standard streaming protocol used by YouTube, Facebook Live, and many other services.

Restreaming setup takes a few minutes and requires no additional hardware or software.

### Step 1: Get the URL and stream key from the third-party platform

First, create a stream on the platform where the feed will be forwarded:

* **YouTube** → In the "Streams" section, create a new stream, and in the settings find the RTMP link and stream key.
* **Any other service** → Find the stream settings and copy the RTMP address and key.

### Step 2: Add restreaming data to Kinescope

1. Log in to Kinescope and create a new Live stream event.
2. In the stream settings, find the **"Restreaming"** section.
3. Add the RTMP server URL and stream key from the external platform.
4. Save the settings.

> **Информация:**

You can add multiple platforms for restreaming simultaneously. Each platform will receive the same video feed.

### Step 3: Start the stream

1. Start the stream in Kinescope.
2. After launch, the video feed will automatically begin forwarding to all connected platforms.
3. Check that the stream is displaying correctly on all services.

## Restreaming recommendations

* **Check settings in advance** — make sure all platforms are correctly receiving the RTMP stream. Run a test stream before the main broadcast.
* **Use a stable internet connection** — restreaming increases bandwidth load, so a reliable connection is important.
* **Monitor delay** — some platforms may add additional delay. Take this into account when planning interactive stream elements.
* **Control stream quality** — different services may have different bitrate and resolution limitations. Configure stream parameters considering the requirements of all platforms.
